I create these charcoal drawings using beach fire charred sticks, and ink mixed with salt water and chalk. By incorporating these natural elements I am exploring how artists work with materials and how it affects and informs the work. Salt water mixed with ink changes the texture and makes it grainy rather than smooth. Beach fire charcoal can be inconsistently crumbly or very dense which adds irregularity in creating shapes.
This is a unique drawing and one of a kind. Drawn and signed by the artist. The work is framed in a white wood frame, matted with 100% cotton rag 4 ply mat and backing and glazed with glass.
