About the design:
These delicate seaweed 'flowers' are exmples of Grinnell's Pink Leaf (Grinelia americana). They populate the waters of the North Atlantic in the summer, gracefully undulating along with the shifting tides. In this collage they are paired with an eco printed background, a process of staining paper with organic dyes extracted from flowers, berries, leaves, and seaweed, This creates an effect of layers, as the seaweed floats over an illusion of the sandy bottom of the sea.
