I named this print Aquidneck Butterfly because of how it resembles its namesake in grace and beauty. It is Palmaria palmata (dulse), and grows among the kelp in the sublittoral zone. Who knew something this beautiful was out there getting tangled in your feet or fishing line! It was discovered in the waters at Third Beach, Rhode Island, at the mouth of the Sakonnet River.
