Bachelorette Seaweed Pressing Workshop

Celebrate the bride-to-be with a creative afternoon by the coast! Gather your favorite people in my Newport studio for a fun, hands-on seaweed pressing workshop inspired by the Victorian tradition of collecting and preserving seaweed as a seaside keepsake.

We’ll explore different types of seaweed and create our own coastal compositions using natural forms, cotton rag paper, and simple tools. Each guest will make two original seaweed pressings—a unique keepsake and a fun reminder of your time together in Newport.

No experience necessary, and all materials are provided. The process is part art, part science, and always includes a little element of surprise! Once dry, your pressings can be framed and enjoyed at home. Drying takes a few days to a week; you can leave your pressings at the studio for pickup at the end of your retreat or have them mailed once they’re completely dry (shipping additional).
