Family Seaweed Pressing Workshop

Come spend some creative time by the coast exploring the art of seaweed pressing! This family-friendly workshop introduces kids and adults to the Victorian tradition of collecting and preserving seaweed as a beautiful seaside keepsake.

We’ll explore different types of seaweed, learn how to arrange them into unique compositions, and create our own pressed seaweed artworks using paper, simple tools, and natural materials. The process is part art and part science—and there’s always an element of surprise as the final image is revealed once the seaweed dries. Everyone will make one seaweed pressing that can be framed and hung in your home!

No experience is necessary. Kids and adults can work together to create something beautiful and one-of-a-kind to take home.
