About the design:
In the Victorian Era seaweed was referred to as Sea Moss and there are many poems written about its beauty. This strand of Sargassum was found in the current of Narragansett Bay at Fort Adams, covered with Bryozoans, which gave it a moss-like appearance. It connects the history of Newport during that era with the mysterious beauty of the ocean.
